Missed Connection
I boarded various scenes for the action comedy short film Missed Connection Directed by Alex Zitomer, the short can be viewed here. I worked as one of the main board artists helping from the thumbnail to final board phases. Below are the individual scenes I boarded for the short.
Opening Rotation Shot
The protagonist Maxx arrives to the airport only to be overwhelmed by the sheer size of the location emphasized with a dolly zoom shot. Things get back on track as they catch Scott running in the direction of their connecting flight. Idea was to show how small and disoriented Maxx was in the scene.
Coffee Shop Crash
Action scene. Maxx rides a roller case, crashing into the airport coffee shop. Scott dashes bias Maxx scrambles to keep pace, all to the misfortune of a passerby just trying to get some coffee.
Act 3 Intro
The chase between the two ends as they both end up missing their connecting flight
Ending Scene
Resolution Scene where Maxx and Scott realize they’re heading for the same interview and the two set aside their differences. The scene had a big focus on character expressions and acting
